Game of the Round - Renouf Division : Westboomers vs Greenway Giants
After the rain on Friday night, there was a little concern about conditions, but thanks to the fantastic efforts of the tarp and ground crew, Saturday morning turned out to be a great day for baseball. 🌤️⚾️
We were treated to an exciting matchup at Glover Street as the West Boomers Bathtub Donkeys (3rd) took on the Greenway Giants Slack (4th) in a game played with great spirit and sportsmanship.
The West Boomers got off to a flying start with Noah Warner striking out the first three batters of the game. He continued his strong pitching into the second inning, adding another two strikeouts. Combined with some sharp hitting, the Boomers crossed the plate five times in the first inning and led 10–0 after two.
A pitching change for the Boomers saw the Giants begin to find their way on base, but some outstanding defence—particularly from catcher Marlowe, who threw out two runners attempting to steal—kept momentum in check.
The Giants broke through for their first run in the third inning and never backed away from the contest, continuing to work hard and making some excellent plays in the field. Their efforts limited the Boomers to just two runs in the fourth.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, the West Boomers were tough to beat on the day, finishing with just one error all game and securing a 17–1 win.
There was plenty of great banter throughout, with both teams showing strong effort, positive attitudes, and respect for the game. Even with the score difference, it was a match enjoyed by all. 👏⚾️

Club News:💚 Five Dock Charity Round – Supporting Make-A-Wish! 💚
Last weekend, Five Dock hosted their annual Charity Round, with every dollar raised going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation—and what a day it was!
Players, families, and supporters turned the fields bright green in personalised Falcons shirts, while the smell of the BBQ and the buzz around the raffle (packed with incredible community-donated prizes!) kept the energy high.
Yes, it was a scorcher—but they stayed cool with slushies, a water-misting station, and plenty of smiles. Every game had extra sparkle thanks to walk-out introductions and music for every player, creating a true big-league atmosphere.
We’re thrilled to share that the day was a huge success, raising $3,100 for Make-A-Wish!
Thank you to everyone who supported, volunteered, donated, and showed up in full Falcons and Ryde Hawks spirit. 💚✨

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: KISSING POINT VS CONCORD — T-BALL HEATWAVE SHOWDOWN! 🚨
Kissing Point and Concord delivered an instant classic on Saturday, stepping onto the diamond for a scorching showdown featuring big swings, bigger water bottles, and enough sunscreen to safeguard a small nation.
From the very first hit, players rotated seamlessly between batting, fielding, and staying hydrated. Several athletes were spotted carrying their drink bottles like loyal sidekicks, while others perfected the now-iconic “sip-and-sprint” between bases.
Defence was… enthusiastic. At one point three players fielded the same ball, while another practiced cartwheels in the outfield “just in case the team needed it.”
The day’s true champions? The Zooper Doopers—vanishing in seconds the moment the game wrapped up. Close second: the parent who instantly entered local legend status after producing a surprise water-spray bottle to cool down the troops.
Coaches praised the kids for their effort, energy, and elite ability to forget where they left their glove (often still on their hand). Parents left sweaty, smiling, and very, very proud.
