The Falcons had an incredible day out at the Sydney Blue Sox Association Day for Ryde Hawks on Saturday, 29 November!

Around 60 Falcons players and their families came along to enjoy the action. The kids jumped right into the skills clinic run by the Sydney Blue Sox—complete with coaching from some of the players. Afterwards, they were treated to autograph signing and plenty of photos with their Blue Sox heroes.

The excitement continued with a double-header against the Adelaide Giants. A huge highlight for the Falcons was seeing their very own Ned Fernie from the Pterodactyls O’Neill division take the mound for the first pitch, delivered to 3rd baseman Joe Stevens. An unforgettable moment!

Greenway came out firing in the opening inning, kicking things off with a two-out rally. Charli Silver sparked the action with the first of her two doubles on the day, driving in the game’s opening run. Five straight hits followed, pushing across three more runs and giving Greenway an early 4–0 lead.

Rangers answered quickly in the bottom of the 1st, collecting five hits of their own and bringing in two runs to stay well in the fight.

In the top of the 2nd, Greenway struck again — another two-out rally, powered by back-to-back doubles from Charli Silver and Jiyoo Lee, extended the lead with three additional runs. The Rangers threatened in the bottom half, scoring one run before recording an out, but stellar defence shut down their momentum. A sharp pickup at 3B by Faith Rutenberg, followed by heads-up coverage from Jiyoo to get the force at third, helped limit the damage. Rangers plated another run but still trailed 7–4 heading into the 3rd.

Both teams stayed quiet in the 3rd, but Greenway reignited in the 4th with—yet again—a clutch two-out rally, adding two more runs for a 9–4 advantage. Another run in the top of the 5th put the game firmly out of reach, sealing a 10–4 victory.

A fantastic effort from both sides — and a huge milestone for Greenway, with every hitter reaching base for the first time this season! 🎉⚾

Yesterday was Association Day for Ryde Hawks Baseball League at the Sydney Blue Sox double header, and what an incredible day it was! ⚾💙

Families enjoyed a free pre-game clinic, and the kids even had the chance to meet the players and take a lap of honour around the field. The smiles said it all — a truly special family event and a great celebration of our baseball community.

The Stealers achieved something truly remarkable this week — they won EVERY SINGLE GAME they played!

✔️ 10 games played. 10 games WON.

(And with the KP/Stealers mixed team earning a hard-fought draw, that’s 11 games unbeaten!)

The only Stealers teams without a win were those affected by a washout — or the unavoidable outcome of a Stealers vs Stealers matchup. In other words, they were their own toughest competition!

What a night at Golden Jubilee Diamond #1!

The weather for the Stealers Thunder vs. Wests Boomers Yard Goats (Thompson Division) showdown was ice-cold and abysmal - but the baseball was absolutely red-hot.

The Yard Goats came out firing in the 1st inning with runners everywhere, punchy hits, and gutsy baserunning. The Stealers answered right back, blitzing the bases and only being held in check by Nate Stone’s dramatic pitching and two big strikeouts from the tremendous Tomic Valenta. Stealers up 3 - 2.

In the 2nd inning, the Yard Goats took off, piling on hits and bringing in runs as their spirits soared. But the Stealers weren’t backing down - jumping on loose balls at the backstop to claw back five of their own. 8 - 7 Stealers after two.

The 3rd inning was a nail-biter defensive masterclass:
• A slick double play from Tomic at first
• Crafty pickoffs by Jake Stone
• A clutch tag at home
Both teams were locked down—no runs scored.

Kicking off the 4th inning, the Stealers unleashed their smoking-hot pitcher, Rusty the Gun, who absolutely dominated: 3 strikeouts in just 11 pitches.

In the end, the Stealers proved too strong, bringing home four late runs to seal a 12–7 victory. A courageous, focused performance - one of their best yet.
