Junior Hawks

Ryde Hawks Baseball League offers excellent opportunities for Junior Hawks to excel at a higher level of Baseball.
As an affiliate of Baseball NSW we are invited to provide Representative Teams and Development Teams to compete against all other Sydney Associations.
All teams have experienced Coaches assisting them to develop their existing skills.

Competitions vary across all ages starting with -

The Rookie Cup – Under 10s

This is a gala day held during the season on a Sunday. Teams are selected by trial process. It is an excellent starting point to encourage young Hawks to develop their talent further.

State Cup & Development Cup for Under 12s & Under 14s & 16s (Youth League)

The Competition is held from September and concludes in December. Games are played on Sundays and do not clash with normal Club competitions. In order to prevent injury, specific rules are in place to limit pitching and catching.

Junior Hawks Girl Representatives Under 13s & 15s

This competition provides opportunities for Girls to compete at a higher level and is a gala day concept.

Trials are held in Winter and a specific development program is in place to ensure players reach the standard necessary to compete effectively. This development program concludes with the ever populare Gala days held in the Central Coast (Coasties Cup) and the Tamworth Cup. It is a great way to celebrate the end of Winter.

Other Representative Opportunities

In addition to the above Ryde Hawks Baseball League also enters the worldwide Little League competition, this is a geographic based competition where regions compete for the chance to represent Austarlia at the World Little League games. Ryde Hawks submits 2 teams each year.

State Opportunities

For the player who desires to go to another level they also have the opportunity to Represent the State. Baseball NSW competes annually in January at the National Championships.

Competitions commence at Under 14s & Under 16s and successful players have the chance to play interstate. Ryde Hawks has a number of players representing each year.

National Teams

For the very talented Baseball offers the chance to represent your Country and to train at the prestigouos Major League Academy on the Gold Coast. Again Ryde Hawks has a number of past Junior Hawks who have represented Australia, the latest being Dean Aldridge from the North Ryde Club.
